I have bought insulated terminals in a local supermarket, they were glossy. I have noticed that the same terminals made by KBT are mat.

Both coatings are pin-plating. Glossy surfaces were subjected to electrolytic tin-plating, matt surfaces say that bismuth was added during tin-plating. Bismuth brings additional resistance to corrosion, so the product will live a longer life.
